Mark Rydell is a highly acclaimed and award-winning film and television director. He has directed over 30 films and television movies since beginning his career in the 1960s. He has directed all of the major studio films starring Demi Moore and Alec Baldwin, including Where the Heart Is (1987), Steel Magnolias (1989), and Absence of Malice (1993). His other credits include the Oscar-nominated documentaries The '60s: Where We Are Now (2008) and Touching Evil: An Investigation Into Murder (2004) and the Emmy-nominated film, The Civil War: To The End (2000).
